Free inventory calculators
Five calculators for the numbers every stock-holding business needs: when to reorder, how much safety stock to keep, how much to order, how fast stock turns and what margin a price gives. They work in your browser, need no sign-up, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Calculators

Economic order quantity (EOQ) calculator
How much to order so ordering plus holding costs are lowest.
Inventory turnover and days of inventory
How fast stock sells through, and how long it waits.
Gross margin and markup calculator
Margin, markup, profit per unit and the price for a target margin.
How the numbers fit together
Safety stock protects you against the days that are worse than average. Add it to the demand you expect during the supplier’s lead time and you have the reorder point — the moment to order. The economic order quantity then suggests how much to order each time, balancing the cost of placing orders against the cost of holding stock.
Inventory turnover and days of inventory tell you afterwards whether the policy worked: how fast stock sold through and how long cash sat on the shelves. Gross margin and markup tell you whether each sale paid for the stock behind it.
Working these out item by item in a spreadsheet is fine for a handful of products. Cash Flow Inventory works out safety stock, the reorder point and the order-up-to level for every item from its own demand, lead time and service level, refreshes them every night, and lists what to reorder from which supplier.
